Crude oil extracted from an oil well contains produced water. As it often happens, static sedimentation fails to separate fully oil from water.
Previously in order to dispose oil containing waste water and sediments which are formed in oil refineries, petrochemical and other industrial plants, big pits and ponds were dug.
Crude oil is stored in reservoirs. Over time, in the bottom of these tanks there is a layer consisting of heavy hydrocarbons (paraffins) and inorganic pollutants, such as sand, rust and heavy metals, which reduces the useful volume of the container.

Treatment of oil emulsion

Crude oil extracted from an oil well contains produced water. As it often happens, static sedimentation fails to separate fully oil from water. At the boundary of separation of these liquids, a layer of hard degradable oil emulsion is formed, which is usually discharged into oil sludge tanks.  

Our Services allow processing of such kinds of hard degradable oil emulsion and, consequently, obtaining of commercial oil. The mobile unit in container execution by centrifugation separates hard degradable oil emulsions into oil, water phases and mechanical impurities (cake).    

  • regenerated oil of commercial quality is pumped by the temporary pipeline installed on site to storage tank for further use 
  • separated water is discharged to the available dump line intended for waste water
  • accumulated mechanical impurities are loaded into containers for further disposal.

Economical effect:

  • obtainment of additional volumes of commercial oil from emulsion

Ecological effect:

  • reduction of oil containing waste as a result of processing of emulsion

Processing of oil sludge

Previously in order to dispose oil containing waste water and sediments which are formed in oil refineries, petrochemical and other industrial plants, big pits and ponds were dug. Even today in many parts of the world it is possible to find enormous lagoons and ponds, where oil sludge is stored during decades.    

We offer our services for processing of such kinds of sludge using our equipment for centrifugal separation of waste.

The system consists of sludge intaking device by which sludge is taken from a certain depth. Sludge pump is mounted on the pontoon which is floating on the surface of a pond. If the surface is highly weathered and paraffins and asphaltenes content is high, in order to dilute the sludge in the intake zone, when it is necessary, assembled registers are applied. Oil sludge, collected in such manner, is processed in the following way: firstly, sludge is heated and demulsification agents and flocculants are added, then sludge is separated by centrifuge in three phases: commercial oil, water and solids.

The advantages of using centrifuge for processing of oil sludge from sludge ponds and tanks:

  • Approx. 90% of oil containing in the initial sludge is extracted.
  • Solid phase, separated by centrifuge, amounts to approx. 10-20% of the initial sludge volume.
  • Solid phase may be utilized by thermal, biological methods or be deposited;
  • Possibility of continuous and automatic operation even with varying oil sludge composition;
  • Elimination of environmental danger from oil ponds and lagoons.

            Reduction of production costs by:

  • Secondary use of recovered oil as crude oil;
  • Reduction of costs on transportation, depositing (landfilling);
  • Reduction of up to 10-20% of the initial sludge intended for disposal.

Oil tanks cleaning

Crude oil is stored in reservoirs. Over time, in the bottom of these tanks there is a layer consisting of heavy hydrocarbons (paraffins) and inorganic pollutants, such as sand, rust and heavy metals, which reduces the useful volume of the container. Before the safety inspection, before service or repair work, capacity must be completely emptied and cleaned.

Depending on the size of the reservoir 1000 to 5000 m3 of sludge to be recycled is left. As an alternative to incineration, the possibility of recycling through the installation is offered. At the same time most of the oil is recovered and the water can be directed to the

treatment-plant.

Advantages of the installation in the processing of the "dead" sludge in oil storage tanks before manual method:

  • Minimal emissions into the atmosphere;
  • Minimum interposition time of the staff within the tank;
  • 90-95% of oil contained in the sediment is successfully extracted;
  • Continuous and automatic production even when changing the composition of oil sludge

Reduction of costs by :

  • Re-use of regenerated oil as crude oil. This provides a great return of the money spent on cleaning tanks;
  • Reduction of transportation costs and sediment deposition.

Average cleaning time per tank depends on its size and varies from 2 to 8 weeks. .

Mobile unit on cleaning of tanks, hoppers and pipelines

Mobile unit of on the basis of a truck is performing the tasks of cleaning of:

  • Pipelines

Cleaning of tanks is conducted by nozzles and headers in which fresh technical water is fed under pressure that allows reaching high quality treatment without mobilization of additional resources as washing chemicals, steam and others. 

Application of this technology allows removing any type of sediments. Our unit consists of all the necessary equipment for cleaning, including pumping and vacuum equipment, special nozzles and washer heads, air delivery system for personnel etc.
