The crude oil extracted from the well contains formation water. Static settling often fails to completely separate oil from water. At the border of the interface of these liquids a layer of hard-to-destroy emulsion is formed, which is usually discharged into oil sludge collectors.
The services we offer allow to process such hard-to-destroy emulsions and obtain commercial oil as a result. A mobile container-type unit separates hard-to-destroy oil emulsions into oil, water phase and mechanical impurities (cake) by means of centrifugation:
- The recovered commercial-quality oil is pumped through a field-mounted temporary pipeline into a storage tank for storaging and further use
- The separated water is diverted into an existing discharge line designated for waste water
- The accumulated mechanical impurities are loaded into containers for further disposal
Economic effect:
- obtaining additional volumes of commercial oil from the emulsion
Environmental effect:
- reducing the amount of oil contaminated waste as a result of emulsion processing
Large customers of this technology in Kazakhstan:
- Ozenmunaigas JSC
- Mangistaumunaigas JSC
Completed volumes of oil emulsion and oil sludge processing:
- For the needs of Ozenmunaigas JSC for the period from 2008 to 2020 more than 1 million m³ of oil sludge was processed
- For the needs of Mangistaumunaigas JSC in 2008, more than 60,000 m³ of oil sludge was processed
